Mahalo for all your mana'o. That is very interesting to know about cutting down a tree when a warrior dies. Wow, it's been a long time since you've been to Kona if it was back in the 70's. You wouldn't recognize Kona now, it's a little city. Went from 1 lane road and one stop light at the corner of Hualalai and Kuakini to stop lights at every corner, big box stores and 4 lane highway.
BTW did you know Adachi pasted away last year? We were good friends and in the same organization, "Ke Akua Hawaii Ko Aloha" with Aka Mahi as our Alii Nui.

Federal agency sides with environmentalists opposed to nuclear irradiator at airport
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has sided with the environmental law firm Earthjustice over a nuclear irradiation facility proposed near Honolulu Airport to treat fruits and vegetables for export.
The NRC today agreed with Earthjustice's client Concerned Citizens of Honolulu that NRC staff failed to investigate non-nuclear technologies that could accomplish the same goal. Earthjustice cited an electron-beam irradiator that has been used for the past 10 years on the Big Island.
The law firm says the NRC also faulted the staff for failing to consider alternate sites for the proposed nuclear irradiation facility that aren't subject to the threats of tsunami, earthquakes and aircraft crashes.
